Kanon Saha (60) is a shopkeeper by profession. Her Husband died 3 years ago. She has 2 sons and 1 daughter. She doesn’t have any agricultural land and she is a Member of Shibpur Bhumihin Shamity where she tries to make savings. She runs her shop in a village market where all the shopkeepers are Male. As a female she faced lot of social problems/threats to survive in the market as shopkeeper because in Bangladeshi culture mostly Men are run business in market. She started her shop by Products value BDT 20,000and Cash BDT10,000. Now she had capital valued 1.5 lac and last few years she paid due loan of her husband about 4 lac. Kanon’s elder son is working as a Electrician and younger one helps her in shop and driving a Electric Easy Bike. She developed her financial situation by running her business.
Kanon is also a very aware woman who raised her voice in some social issues like gender discrimination, Tangail Flood Action Plan, Social Violence.
